Teaching
Spanish · Linguistics · University of the Fraser Valley
I try to run classrooms where students produce knowledge that leaves the room.
That is why my students build social media kits instead of writing essays about sociolinguistics, why they photograph and code the signage of their own neighbourhoods, and why advanced composition is written for community partners who will actually read it. Assessment is the part of teaching that most reliably tells students what we truly value, so it is the part I keep rebuilding.
